Frequently Asked Questions

Planning changes to your home can feel exciting, but it often comes with plenty of questions. Whether you are considering a kitchen renovation, updating a bathroom, reworking the layout of your home or simply need help making the right selections – these are some of the questions most often asked.

What services does Simply Trends Interiors offer?

Simply Trends Interiors provides residential design services for kitchens, bathrooms, whole-home renovations, furniture and finish selections, space planning and thoughtfully designed updates throughout the home.

Some clients need support from the earliest planning stages through selections and coordination, while others are looking for focused guidance on a particular room or decision. Our approach is tailored to the project and to the way you prefer to work.

Do you work on kitchen and bathroom renovations?

Yes. Kitchens and bathrooms are a significant part of our work.

We help you plan all the details of a kitchen and bathroom renovation so that every element feels connected. We provide floor plans, cabinetry direction, countertop and backsplash selections, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware finishes and the overall design of the space. The goal is always to create rooms that feel beautiful, functional and appropriate for the way you live.

Do you offer full-service residential design?

Yes. Simply Trends Interiors can provide full-service support from the early design stages through sections, sourcing and installation.

Each project is approached individually, so the level of involvement can be tailored to your needs and the complexity of the renovation.

What areas do you serve?

Simply Trends Interiors is based in Toronto and works primarily with residential clients throughout Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario.

For projects outside the immediate area, we are always happy to discuss the location and scope of work to see whether the project is a good fit.

Can you help with Aging-in-Place or Universal Design?

Yes. Thoughtful planning can make a home safer, more comfortable and easier to use without making it feel clinical or institutional.

Universal design and Aging-in-Place principals can be incorporated into kitchens, bathrooms and other areas of the home through improved layouts, accessible storage, lighting, fixture selection and other practical details.

Can you help with furniture, lighting and finish selection?

Yes. We can help with furniture selection, area rugs, lighting, window treatments, flooring, paint colours, hardware, plumbing fixtures and other finishes that bring a room together.

This service can be part of a larger renovation or a more focused refresh, helping your home feel more cohesive and thoughtfully designed without the need for major construction.

Do you provide floor plans and space planning?

Yes. Proper space planning is an important part of many projects, especially when clients are considering changes to a kitchen, main floor, basement or other living areas.

We can explore alternative layouts, furniture placement and opportunities to improve flow, storage and use of space before renovation work begins.

Do you work with clients who already have a contractor?

Yes. We regularly collaborate with contractors, cabinetmakers, trades and other project professionals.

In some projects, Simply Trends Interiors provides the overall design direction, layouts and selections, while detailed fabrication or construction drawings are completed by the appropriate trade or supplier. The goal is to keep everyone working from a clear, coordinated design vision.

How are design fees structured?

Design fees are based on the scope and level of support required for each project. Some projects are billed hourly, while most are structured as a fixed design fee depending on the work involved.

After an initial conversation and review of the project scope, Simply Trends Interiors will outline the recommended services and associated fees so you have a clear understanding of what is included before moving forward.

For smaller consultations or more focused design work, hourly services may be the most appropriate approach. Larger renovations involve a more detailed proposal based on the expected design requirements.

How do I get started?

The first step is to get in touch and tell us a little about your home, the rooms you are considering and what you would like to change.

From there, we will schedule a phone appointment to learn more about the scope of the project and what you’re hoping to achieve.

This initial discussion gives us an opportunity to understand the project, answer a few early questions and determine what kind of design support may be most appropriate.

Thinking about making a change to your home?

We would love to hear what you are considering. Whether you are planning a renovation, reworking a space or simply need help finding the right direction, the first step is a conversation.
